QR Code (Quick Response Code)

Definition

A type of matrix barcode (or two-dimensional barcode) that can contain data such as a URL, text, or contact info.

Invented in 1994 by Denso Wave. It can be read by a digital camera or smartphone. QR codes have error correction, meaning they can still be read even if partially damaged.
